Hoot Owl Tree Service is a family owned business based out of Bloomington, IN; founded in late 2018 by Mike Merritt, a former Marine and IU Kelley School of Business graduate.

Licensed and insured for tree work in the state of Indiana, we specialize in all tree removal, tree trimming, emergency response, and tree care scenarios. We have the experience and capability to handle tree work of any scope.
Hoot Owl Tree Service utilizes best practices and safety measures to ensure the maximum amount of risk is mitigated during tree work. We serve Bloomington, Ellettsville, Bedford, and the surrounding areas.

Mike is wonderful to work with. He took care of a very large, yet slowly dying silver maple right next to our house. A complicated removal he handled quickly with care. Highly recommended!

Anyway, they did good work by felling a decrepit maple, cleaned up a splayed redbud, and then took some dangerous dead branches from high off a white oak. It's worth mentioning that he got this done about three weeks earlier than he said he would. Top notch in every respect."

HOOT OWL IS THE TREE SERVICE YOU WANT TO GO WITH! LOW COST, EXCELLENT WORK! Mike and his crew are true professionals who did a fantastic job removing two large locust trees and removing some limbs from other trees for me. Mike, the owner, responded very quickly to my emails and texts regarding the job. The crew not only removed the trees and limbs very carefully but also cleaned up everything better than they found it. GO WITH HOOT OWL!

Mike and his team did a great job clearing out 3 very tall and nearly dead Ash trees from our back yard. He was great at communicating during the entire time and was able to get it done in a timely manner, weather permitting, which is a monumental feat right now in our area.
